She was educated through the Norfolk Public School system, where she began building the foundation for a life rooted in family and community.Zella was a devoted and loving wife to Jerome Cuffee, whom she married in 1992. Their union was blessed with a son, Trent Cuffee, whom she loved dearly.She was also a proud mother of four daughters: Natha Lane and Wanda Lane, who continue to carry her legacy forward, and Faye Lane and Leslie Lane, who preceded her in death.Zella found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved going out to restaurants, with pizza being her favorite food. She had a deep love for dancing and music, and one of her favorite songs was "For Many Reasons" by The Fuzz. Her vibrant spirit and love for music brought happiness to those around her.Family meant everything to Zella. She shared a special bond with her many sisters and brothers: Olivia Simmons, Amelia Johnson, Lelia Ricks, Lena Kindred, Lisa Matthew, Constance Rodger, Lorenza Lane, Tony Lane, Demetrius Calvin, Shirley Simms, Evelyn Bailey, Gracie Cuffee, Tony, Otis, Charles, and George Cuffee.She was also a proud grandmother to Quine Lane, Quinshda Lane, Stevie Mann, Larry Mann, and Richtell Lane, and was blessed with a host of great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.Zella will be remembered for her loving heart, her devotion to family, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.
