Zelda Ann Berkelhamer, nee Robins, passed away at the age of 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Sidney Berkelhamer and the late Richard Kier. Zelda was a devoted mother to Charles (Helen Saitelbach) Berkelhamer, Wendy Cesario, Janet (Barry) Robbins, and the late Anita Berkelhamer. She was the cherished Nana of Richard (Liza) Robbins and Alexandra Robbins, and the proud great-grandmother, known as “GG,” to Decker and Michael. She was also the loving sister of the late Norman (the late Judy) Robins and a cherished aunt, cousin, and friend to many.
Born in Chicago and raised in Danville, Illinois, Zelda was a proud member of the Spanish club at Danville High School. She raised her family in Skokie and West Rogers Park, where she enjoyed gathering with loved ones to play her favorite game, Rummikub. A lifelong and passionate supporter of Chicago sports, she proudly called herself the biggest Cubs and Bulls fan in Illinois.
Zelda’s warmth, devotion to family, and spirited personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
