Zebulon Thomas Gibson, Jr.

Zebulon Thomas “Tommy” Gibson Jr. was born on September 7, 1952, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, to Edith “Polly” Gibson and Zebulon Gibson. He passed away peacefully at his home on March 12, 2026.

Tommy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family. He took immense pride in his three sons and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. Known for his steady presence, warm spirit, and deep love for those closest to him, he cared for and supported his family throughout his life.

He enjoyed a long and successful career with Alcoa, where his dedication and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and friends. A proud alumnus of NC State University, Tommy remained a lifelong supporter of the Wolfpack. Whether watching games or talking sports, his loyalty and enthusiasm for his alma mater were always evident.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith “Polly” Gibson and Zebulon “Zeb” Gibson.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Debbe Gibson; his three sons, Trey Gibson (Kate), Jesse Gibson (Jessica), and Graham Gibson (Martha); his brother, Michael Gibson (Lisa); his seven beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Carter, Grayson, Emma, Evelyn, and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews he held dear. His love for his family and his enduring Wolfpack spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
