Zachary (Zac) Andrew Openshaw

Zachary (Zac) Andrew Openshaw, age 39, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on March 5, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with addiction. A bright, caring, and talented man who loved his family deeply, Zac fought with immense strength and determination to overcome substance use disorder. Though the disease ultimately prevailed, his family shares his story without shame, honoring the relentless fight he waged and hoping to bring awareness to the devastating impact of addiction.

Zac is survived by his wife, Daphne; his son, Jaxen; his stepsons, Jayden and Jordan; his brother, Chris; his parents, Andy and Jenny Openshaw; and his grandmother, Virginia Burleson. He now rests free of pain and suffering, held in the mercy of the Lord Jesus.

His memory will remain eternal in the hearts of those who loved him.
