Yvonne Berg Fogel

Yvonne Berg Fogel, age 82, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, passed away on March 8, 2026, at her home in Aberdeen.

Born on March 24, 1943, in Huron, South Dakota, Yvonne was the daughter of Mildred Berg and Arvid Eldeen. She grew up and attended school in Kulm, North Dakota, before moving to Aberdeen. She was blessed with three daughters, whom she raised with her husband, Monte “Butch” Fogel. Butch passed away in 1987. Yvonne later shared 38 happy years with her significant other, Tom Schuck, until his passing in 2024.

Yvonne worked as a waitress for more than thirty years at The Flame restaurant, where her contagious laugh and quick jokes brightened the days of her customers. A true social butterfly, she was known for her beauty, sarcasm, and sharp wit. She possessed a heart of gold, referred to everyone as “Hun,” and took great pride in loving and caring for her entire family. She found joy in playing dice and cards, thrift store shopping, dancing, spending time with friends and family, cooking, canning, and decorating her home.

Yvonne faced many health challenges in her final nine years yet continued to fight with remarkable strength and spirit. She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Vetter, Melanie Anderson, and Yvette Anderson; her grandchildren, Amy Anderson, Brent Vostad, Lashane, Max Anderson, Danzan Gilborne, Blaine Anderson, Justin Osborne, Clint Vetter, Nikita Vetter, Landon Vetter, Derek Vetter, and Drew Vetter; and her siblings, Marie Haux, Mavis Cox, and Junior Eldeen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Berg and Arvid Eldeen; her baby brother, Leroy Eldeen; her grandson, Andrew Vetter; and her beloved Tom Schuck.
