Yvette Gloria Rattner
November 20, 1941— March 10, 2026
Boca Raton, FL
Yvette Gloria Rattner, lovingly known as Gloria to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in Boca Raton, Florida, on March 10, 2026, at the age of 84.
Born in the Bronx, New York, to Sam and Lillian Meltzer, Gloria later raised her family in New City, New York, before moving to South Florida. She was the devoted wife of Edward Rattner for 65 years. High school sweethearts, Gloria and Ed shared a beautiful love story that lasted a lifetime. They were rarely seen apart, always holding hands, laughing together, and showing their affection for one another. He remained her beloved “Butchie,” the center of her world.
Gloria was a loving mother to Lisa Rattner and her longtime partner Robert Zack, and to Steven Rattner and his wife Jennifer. She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Madison Basford and her husband Brandon, and Samantha Rattner and her fiancé Ryan Gobin. Her granddaughters were the greatest joy of her life, and she spoke of them with constant pride and love.
She is also survived by her brother Mark Meltzer and his wife Julie, as well as cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Gloria had a gift for friendship and stayed close with friends she had known since childhood. She took great joy in the lives of her friends’ children, celebrating their accomplishments as if they were her own. Beautiful, funny, and deeply kind, Gloria showed her compassion in simple, everyday ways, such as stopping her car in the middle of the road to rescue turtles and carry them to safety. Her life was defined by her devotion to those she loved and the quiet joy she brought to others. She will be missed forever.
