Yolanda Brown ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Winegeart Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Yolonda Yvette Brown, aged 54, of Hearne, Texas, and formerly of Pampa, passed peacefully into her eternal home on Monday, March 9, 2026, in College Station with her roommate and best friend, Elisa, at her side. Born on May 28, 1971, in Paris, Texas, to Tommy and Patricia Murry, Yolonda's life was a radiant thread woven through the fabric of her family, friends, and community.A spirited and precious child, Yolonda loved the outdoors, often found playing in the dirt with her sisters, embracing the simple joys of childhood. Her passion for sports blossomed early-she excelled in basketball, volleyball, and track, earning recognition as a state-winning athlete on the Pampa High School Track team in both 1986 and 1987. After graduating with the Class of 1989, her talent and dedication earned her a four-year basketball scholarship as a proud Lady Aggie at Texas A&M University. Yolonda's faith was an anchor in her life. As an active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, she was baptized, rejoiced in singing in the choir, and carried those values into adulthood, shaping her compassion for others.Her career was defined by her devotion to service. Over 27 years with MHMR Authority Brazos Valley in Bryan, Texas, Yolonda held numerous roles, including Residential Unit Director and Master Trainer for PMAB. Her leadership, kindness, and encouragement inspired those around her. Her colleagues, who deeply respected and adored her, celebrated her each May with a month-long birthday tribute, a testament to the joy and warmth she brought to every room. Her vibrant smile and enthusiastic laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.Yolonda was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Ada Murry and Marie Boone; uncles, Robert Allen Brown, Owen Brown, and Charles Price; aunts, Toni Brown, Saundra Norton, and Bobbie Randon; brother-in-law, Shawn Touchstone; and sister, Tonette Gomes.Her memory will be cherished by her loving parents, Tommy and Pat Murry; sisters, Stacy Brown, Courtney Brown, LaQuita Brown, and Tia Touchstone; nieces and nephews, Ashley Brown, Aubrei Dowdy, Bradley Brown, Brandon Prentice, Kendra Grays, Kurston Perryman, Stefen Gomes and wife Hayley, Teagan Touchstone, and Tatum Touchstone; great-nieces, Holly and Stefanie Gomes; great-nephews, Kingston Curry, Jayden Doris, Hayden Perryman and Cole Gomes; and a host of extended family and friends whose lives she touched with grace and compassion.With deepest appreciation, the family wishes to thank Yolonda's unwavering support and cherished companion, Elisa Vital, whose constant presence was a blessing beyond measure. They also extend profound thanks to Elisa's Houston relatives, who rallied together with boundless generosity and compassion during times of need. And last, but certainly not least, Yolonda's MHMR family, whose love, encouragement, and camaraderie brought her immense joy and fortified her spirit. The warmth, kindness, and meaningful connections Yolonda shared with each of them created a legacy of strength and happiness that will forever live in their hearts.Yolonda's light continues to shine, reminding us of her favorite color, yellow, and her beauty everlasting. We love you and will carry your memory, laughter, and legacy in our hearts forever.Yolanda may be viewed on Thursday, March 19th from 2pm to 8pm, and again on Friday, March 20th from 9am to 8pm A family visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00, where guests are welcome to visit with the family at Winegeart Funeral Home.Celebration of Life Homegoing services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Reverend Wesly Smith officiating.
