Yaacoub El-Khoury

Yaacoub El-Khoury, born on October 22, 1937, in Lebanon, passed away peacefully at his home in Ahoskie, North Carolina, on March 15, 2026, at the age of 88. Surrounded by his loving family, he left behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and quiet strength.

The son of Semaan El-Khoury and Takla Mansour, Yaacoub worked diligently throughout his life as a contractor in the construction industry. Despite the challenges he faced, his dedication to his craft was matched only by his deep devotion to his family. He possessed a great sense of humor and a warm, welcoming personality that drew people in; he never met a stranger and made everyone around him feel at ease and embraced.

Yaacoub was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Hanni Nakat; his cherished son, Dr. Semaan El-Khoury, and wife Hiba, of Ahoskie; his beloved sister, Lina Langford of Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Nicole El-Khoury and Jacob El-Khoury. He will also be fondly remembered by many extended family members in Lebanon. In keeping with his wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in his birthplace of Lebanon.
