Wonnie "Tiny" Tickle Collins, 98, of Chapel Hill, NC passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in Alamance County.

Wonnie was born on January 11, 1928 in Alamance County to Mary Hudgens Tickle and Turner Tickle. She graduated from A & O High School in 1945. Wonnie married the love of her life, Billie Joel Collins, not long after. She worked as an Office Manager for K-Mart for many years before retiring. Wonnie was a devout Christian. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble. Above all else, Wonnie loved and cherished her family.

Wonnie is survived by son, Bobbie (Tammy) Collins; grandsons: Zandy (Courtney) Collins and Dace Collins; step-grandson, Christopher Jones; great-grandsons: Max and Sam; sister-in-law, Jane Kirkland; brother-in-law, Glenn Collins; and many nieces and nephews to include: Judy (Bobby) Harrell, Kay Andrews, Ellen (Bobby) Andrews, Lori (Daryl) Gaines, Renae (Gary) Allison, A.C. Austin and Barry (Toni) Coble.

Wonnie is preceded in death by her parents: Mary and Turner Tickle; husband, Billie Collins; son, Bruce Douglas Collins; and sisters: Sally Hall, Lossie Austin, Dorothy Murray, Ruby Simmons and Doris Moore.

Memorial visitation services for Wonnie will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Walker's Funeral Home in Hillsborough, NC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossway Church in Altamahaw, NC.
