Winifred Storey

Winifred “Winnie” Storey passed away peacefully at home on March 10, 2026, at the age of 101, surrounded by her loving family. Recipient of the Boston Cane from the town of Pittsfield, Winnie grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts, and married her husband Robert in 1947. Together they raised their seven children in Reading, Massachusetts, and later in Barnstead, New Hampshire. She is survived by six of her children, 24 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Winnie found deep joy in her community and in her many years of involvement with church life, most recently at the Pittsfield Congregational Church. She cherished time spent with family and friends, loved traveling to England, and was an avid reader, especially of books with a British theme. Her bright smile, contagious laugh, and warm acceptance of others left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She delighted in the frequent visits from her children and grandchildren and passed on her love of Britain to her family.

Though she has left this life, her family finds comfort knowing she has journeyed to the better country prepared for her. Winnie and her late husband, Bob, will be laid to rest together at Floral Park Cemetery.
