Wilma Reichle ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations - La Grange on Mar. 10, 2026.Wilma Roeder Reichle, age 98, of New Ulm, Texas, passed away on March 7, 2026.Wilma was born in Colorado County, Texas, on October 24, 1927, to Bruno Von Roeder and Erna Henniger Von Roeder. She attended Shelby School and graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1945. After graduating, she moved to Houston, Texas, where she began working.Following World War II, she met the love of her life, Lawrence A. Reichle. The couple was married on January 19, 1947, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby, Texas. Wilma was baptized, confirmed, and married by Pastor Julius Bousard.After their marriage, Lawrence and Wilma began their career in the drive-in grocery business in Houston. Not long afterward, they moved to New Ulm, Texas, where they built their home and raised their family. They also operated a convenience and grocery store in Columbus, Texas.In New Ulm, Wilma enjoyed a full and peaceful life centered around family and faith. She took great pride in making homemade sausage, raising cattle and chickens, shucking corn, shelling pecans, and growing vegetables. Her family will always remember her fried chicken, canned pickles, sugar and molasses cookies, etc. She treasured the opportunity to watch her children, and their families grow and flourish.Wilma was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Ulm and was active in the Women of the Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 602, in Shelby, Texas.She was blessed with four children: daughter Merle Yenny and husband Bill; son Larry Reichle; son Jake Reichle and wife Kim; and daughter Marlene Leopold and husband Mike. Her family grew to include ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one step-great-grandchild, and five great-great-grandchildren.Wilma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence Reichle; her sons, Jake Alan Reichle and Larry Dean Reichle; her parents, Bruno and Erna Von Roeder; her mother and father in-law, Alfred and Lillie Reichle; her sister, Edna Haverlah and husband Alton; her brother, Elton Roeder and wife Helen; nephews Todd Roeder and Jeff Roeder; brother in-law William 'Bill' Reichle; and her sister-in-law, Lucille Warnken and husband Manfred "Shank" Warnken.She is survived by her sister-in-law, Iva Wolff of La Grange, Texas, along with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family who will cherish her memory.A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations of La Grange. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at St. John's Lutheran Church of New Ulm. Burial will follow at the New Ulm Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of New Ulm, Texas; the American Legion Auxiliary Post 602 of Shelby, Texas; or to a charity of one's choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W.
