Wilma Lorene Saunders

Wilma Lorene Saunders, 92, of Romance, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Unity Health in Searcy. Born on October 11, 1933, in Sedan, Kansas, to Roy and Faye (Hendricks) Watson, Wilma found deep satisfaction in life’s quieter pleasures. She was a gifted quilter whose beautiful handiwork will be cherished by her family for generations. She also enjoyed working jigsaw and crossword puzzles and spent many peaceful hours tending her flower gardens. A lifelong woman of faith, Wilma was a faithful and active member of New Hart Church, where her beliefs shaped and guided her daily life.

She is survived by her children, Linda Martineau (Larry), Lloyd Saunders, Thomas Saunders (Rhonda), and Carol Witt; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosa Lee Dodd; and a host of extended family members who loved her dearly.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Saunders; her parents; and her brothers, Melvin Watson, George A. Watson, and Otis Watson.
