Wilma Jean Francis

Wilma Jean Francis, age 74, of Rockford, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Annapolis, Missouri, on October 19, 1951, to Hazel A. Francis, she lived a life centered on family and the quiet strength of enduring relationships.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend, Wilma remained a steady and loving presence in the lives of those closest to her. She is survived by her children, Richard (Cindy) Francis of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Roger (Missy) Francis of Wisconsin, and Sharon Martinez of Rockford, Illinois; her brother, James Kearbey (Debbie Zegunis) of Machesney Park, Illinois; and her aunt, Phyllis Francis of Monroe Center, Illinois. She also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a nephew, a niece, and great-nieces and nephews who will carry her memory forward.

Wilma was predeceased by her mother, Hazel A. (Clarence) Kearbey; her brothers, Billy E. Francis and Kenneth R. Francis; and numerous aunts and uncles. She will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
