Wilma E. McCarty

Wilma E. McCarty of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. Dowell and Gladys Dowell (Farris), her husband Gerald McCarty, and her sister Creta Paget.

Wilma is survived by her children, Mark Brabant (Julie) of Chillicothe, Illinois, Benaiah Brabant of Woodridge, New Jersey, Dean Brabant (Charlotte) of Eldridge, Michael McCarty (Cindy), Steven McCarty (Linda), and Cathy Leonard (David). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members who will remember her with great affection.

She lived a life deeply rooted in family, faith, and quiet devotion to those she loved, leaving behind a legacy carried forward by the many generations who called her mother, grandmother, and friend.
