Wilma “Mama Dean” Duckett, age 92, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away on March 8, 2026. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose warmth and steadfast presence touched everyone in her large and close-knit family. A longtime member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, she lived a life centered on faith, family, and quiet service to others. She will be remembered with deep affection and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Duckett; a son, Danny Duckett of Birmingham; three brothers, Willie J. Powell of Fyffe, Sylvester Powell and Larry Powell of Ohio; and four sisters, Jean Powell of Ohio, Othalua Nailer of Ohio, Sue Gregory and Vivian Townsend of Albertville.
Wilma is survived by her sister, Ruth Cooper of Guntersville; her sons, Randy Duckett and Tim Duckett (Marcey); daughter-in-law Vickie Duckett; grandchildren Dana Duckett (Misty), Kevin Duckett (Tonya), Nick Duckett (Michelle), Letha Cannon (Jeremy), Christen Duckett, Mallory Michael, Dustin Duckett (Morgan), Maddie Bruce and Luke Bruce; great-grandchildren Alivia Michael, Thaxten Land, Kaide Holsonback, Alleigh Miller, Logan Richards, Lenslie Richards, Lekili Richards, Brantley Cannon, Koal Duckett, Jake Duckett, Ella Duckett, Sawyer Duckett, Peyton Duckett, Londyn Duckett and Liam Duckett; great-great grandchildren Alanna Jade Cerrillo and August Cole Land; and a nephew, Gene Townsend of Albertville, and nieces Lynn Townsend and Kellye Wells of Scottsboro.
