Fargo, ND

Willis Clyde Wehrman, age 84, passed away March 13, 2026 at Eventide Senior Living in Fargo, ND.

Will was born April 13, 1941 to Lester and Dorotha (Workman) Wehrman in Minot, ND. Will grew up alongside sisters Sylvia and Joyce near Donnybrook on his family’s farm. Growing up he worked alongside his family farming and enjoying summers with cousins sleeping in the bunkhouse and participating in all the community events. He graduated from Donnybrook high school and attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks achieving a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. At UND he met his wife, Linda Johannesson and they married October 16, 1965 at Gardar, ND.

Will and Linda began their married life together in Madelia, MN welcoming their daughters Lana, Terri and Patty while he worked at Tony Downs Foods. Will and family moved to Moorhead, MN in 1978 to work at the new Anheuser Busch malt plant as a mechanical engineer. He remained with Anheuser Busch becoming the head mechanical engineer. While in Moorhead Will and Linda welcomed two additional daughters, Janet and Diane. In the late 1980’s Will had an opportunity to design a new malt plant which provided many trips to St. Louis, MO and Idaho Falls, ID. Then in 1990, Will & Linda along with Janet and Diane moved to Idaho Falls, for the opening of a new Anheuser Busch malt plant. He remained the lead mechanical engineer at the Idaho Falls malt plant until his retirement in 2001. Will was grateful to have the opportunity to tour the Moorhead malt plant with a few family members prior to its closing.

Following retirement, Will and Linda returned to the farm near Donnybrook and spent many winters traveling to Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California driving their minivan, stopping at all the attractions and visiting family along the way. At the farm, Will enjoyed his garden, morning coffee at the Gas Depot in Donnybrook catching all the local news and visiting with neighbors. Will and Linda next split their time between Donnybrook and an apartment in Rogers, MN where they spent more time with their daughters and grandchildren. Will returned to Fargo when he entered assisted living at Eventide. Will enjoyed traveling, playing cards, drinking coffee, watching grandkids play sports, visiting and figured out how to fix just about anything. Will was raised in the Methodist church and attended Grace United Methodist while living in Moorhead. He enjoyed church services especially the music at Eventide.

Will was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, parents, Lester and Dorotha, sister, Sylvia Kvale, and brothers-in-law, Del Ekness, Cliff Kvale, and Gary Johannesson. Will is survived by his daughters, Lana Wehrman; Terri (Dwain) Urvig, Patty (Chad) Welsh, Janet (Iain) Wehrman Harriman, Diane Wehrman (Chris Lindblad), grandchildren – Andrew Urvig, David Urvig, Michael Urvig (Emma Backlund), Timothy Urvig, Dylan Welsh, Gavin Welsh, Kaelan Harriman, Ethan Lindblad and Nora Lindblad, his sister Joyce Ekness, sister-in-law Rosemary Johannesson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to recognize the work of Ethos Hospice and Eventide Fargo skilled nursing for the care and attention Will received in his final months.
