Willie Mae Granberry, born on October 13, 1938, in Renova, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Throughout her life, Willie Mae worked at Jack Thurman’s Restaurant, Kalamazoo Laundry, and as an activity helper with Kalamazoo Public Schools. Her kind spirit, dedication to helping others, and generous heart left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She found simple joy in reading and visiting with others, and her deep love for the Lord guided her nurturing ways and unconditional support for those around her.
Willie Mae is survived by her five children, Gregory P. (Debra) Jones, Darin Jones, Steve Jones, Carolyn Jones-Lipsey, and Kevin Jones, along with five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her eight siblings, Willie Granberry, Zettie Carter, Christine Higdon, McKinley Granberry, Linda Bankhead, Martha Lewis, Mary Green, and Doris Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Zettie Granberry, and her son, Glen Jones.
She will be remembered as a warm and compassionate woman whose unwavering spirit and devotion to others touched countless lives.
