Willie Bloodsaw ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dudley Funeral Home on Mar. 17, 2026.Funeral services for Mr. Willie Lee "Sonny" Bloodsaw, 87, of Dublin, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2 PM at God's Divine Ministries, Inc., 600 Telfair Street in Dublin. Interment will follow in the Dudley Memorial Cemetery.Mr. Bloodsaw was born on Tuesday, August 23, 1938, in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Charlie Bloodsaw and Annie Pearl Bloodsaw, and was lovingly raised by the late Charles C. Murray.He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959 and completed his service as a Private with an honorable discharge. Mr. Bloodsaw was also a dedicated member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, Landmark #64.After many years of hard work and commitment, he retired from Roche Farm & Garden and The Southern Peanut Company."Sonny," as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was a devoted and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially fishing, watching westerns, and playing cards with family and friends. He was also a proud member of the Whist Card Game Club and treasured the fellowship and laughter shared with those around him.Mr. Bloodsaw passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in Dublin, Georgia.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Jennie Mae Floyd who was the loving mother of his daughters; his son-in-love, Robert Johnson; three sisters, Charlie Lou Bloodsaw, Annette Bloodsaw, and Nancy Bloodsaw; three brothers, Jerry Bloodsaw, Harry C. Murray, and John C. Murray; and son-in-law, Robert Johnson.He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughters, Renay Johnson, Debbie Bailey (Garry Bailey), and Ursula Bloodsaw, all of Dublin, Georgia; his grandchildren, Shambria Maddox, Kawauski Bloodsaw, NaPorsche Mitchell, Dedric Bloodsaw, Shanika Mitchell, Precious Bloodsaw, Alvinske Bloodsaw, and Indonesia Bloodsaw; his great-grandchildren, Jaylen, Nazyon, Jeremiah, Jennika, Madisyn, Naomi, Nysir, RJ, Lay, Mauri, Zaiden, Rakadein, Keing, Kaylee, Kai, CJ, and Niya; one sister, Teresa (Pastor Marvin) Blue of East Dublin; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Murray of North Carolina and Betty Murray of Dublin, a special longtime friend, Evelyn Thomas; a godson, Maurice Hightower, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.Though he is no longer with us in body, the love, wisdom, and memories he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
