Willie Anderson

March 2, 1950 March 9, 2026

Munford, AL

Willie Frank Anderson, affectionately known as “Wild Willie,” passed away on March 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 2, 1950, in Munford, Alabama, to the late Ollie Frank and Emma Sue Anderson, Willie grew up with a deep love for his hometown and an early devotion to his faith. He professed his faith at a young age and became a cherished member of Shady Grove Baptist Church, where he found both spiritual grounding and lasting community connections.

A gifted athlete, Willie excelled on the baseball field and played a key role in guiding the Jenifer Giants to victory in the 1967 Little League Baseball Championship in Anniston, Alabama. Later in life, he moved to New Jersey, where he built a long and steady career with Marangee Waste Management until his retirement. Above all, Willie cherished his role as a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and loyal friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Kim, his parents, brothers Raymond, Ronell “Fathead,” and Cleophas, and sisters Mildred, Shirley, and Loretta “Lady.” Willie is survived by his daughter Terri; granddaughters Shonna, Tia, and Toya; and great-grandchildren Kyrie and Layla, all of New Jersey. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Ann Sistrunk of Anniston, Alabama, Delois Willis and Emma Jean Calloway of Chicago, Illinois, and brothers Eddie (Georgetta), Erskine, and Victor “Lukey” of Munford, Alabama.

Those who knew Willie will remember a man whose spirit was as boundless as his laughter, a gentle soul who brought joy and light to everyone around him. His legacy of love continues through the lives of his family and friends.
