William Wood

William Wood, 59, of Poughkeepsie, New York, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on July 9, 1966, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Clifford and Marion Shaw Wood. A lifelong resident of the area, he attended Poughkeepsie High School.

William was a passionate and skilled hobbyist who found great joy in assembling model cars and trucks. Self-employed, he approached his work with the same care and attention to detail that he brought to his models. He is survived by his children, Amanda Parsons and her husband James of Poughkeepsie, Alyson Wood of Poughkeepsie, and James Wood of Highland; his brothers Clifford, Robert, Timothy, Paul, and Ronald Wood; his sisters Virginia DuBois and Debra Sutka; his grandchildren Nolan and Collin Parsons; and his companion, Patricia Donnelly.

Those who knew him will remember William as a loving father, brother, and grandfather whose gentle presence and quiet passion for his hobbies left a lasting imprint on their lives.
