William Scott Jordan, 65, of Sumter, South Carolina, husband of Nancy W. Jordan, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Prisma Health Toumey Hospital.
Born on August 25, 1960, in Sumter, he was the son of the late Janet Player Smith and William Paul Smith. He proudly served his country for 30 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as an Iraq War veteran. He remained deeply connected to his military community as a member of American Legion Post 15, a life member of VFW Post 3034, and a member of the National Guard Association of South Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy; their four children, William P. “Billy” Jordan (Sherri), Elizabeth “Betsy” Jordan (Jacob Shipman), Roberta “Bobbie” Sinner (Brandon), and Jamie Bryan Vipperman; eleven grandchildren, Meadow, Angel, Keili, Tylor, Cliffton Jay “C.J.”, Makynzie “Arlo”, Elsie, Reigan, Esper, Pyper, and Karsun; three great-grandchildren, Hazel, Jordan, and River; his devoted father, William Paul Smith; and his siblings, James F. Jordan (Paula), Douglass Johnson (Eric), and Annette McCaffrey (Sean). He was predeceased by his mother and his biological father, William Adrian Jordan.
William will be remembered for his lifelong dedication to service, his love for his large and growing family, and the quiet strength he brought to everyone who knew him.
