William Robert Simonson

William Robert Simonson, 77, of Janesville, Wisconsin, passed away on March 11, 2026, at his home. Born on July 20, 1948, in Whitehall, Wisconsin, to Robert and Alice (Tweed) Simonson, Bill graduated from Janesville Senior High School in 1966. He served his country as a United States Marine from 1968 to 1970 during the Vietnam War. In 1971, he married Deborah Phillippe in Janesville, beginning a marriage that spanned more than five decades.

Bill retired from Jones Dairy Farm in Fort Atkinson. He found great joy in the outdoors, spending many hours hunting, fishing, and camping. For 45 years he remained committed to his 12-step program, and above all else, he treasured the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Simonson; his sons, Phillip Simonson, Michael Simonson, and Jason (Jennifer) Simonson; four grandchildren, Teagan, Gabrielle, Gavin, and Mea Simonson; his sister, Jane Ehlers; his sister-in-law, Candy (Gar) Hanson; and his stepfather, Lavern (Norma) Granlund. Bill was predeceased by his parents.
