Spallino Funeral Home on Mar. 10, 2026.William "Bill" Reis, 77, of North Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Westmoreland Hospital, surrounded by his family and friends.Born on December 2, 1948 to Harry Reis and Doris Jean (Martin) Reis, he was a lifelong resident of the Charleroi area and a proud member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish. A dedicated U.S. Army veteran, Bill served in the Military Police during the Vietnam Era, stationed in Germany. He went on to a 40-year career at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Allenport, working as a laborer on the Pickling Line, later matriculating to Foreman. His friends, family and colleagues have always known Bill for his skill in building, fixing, and restoring anything old into something new.Bill was an avid outdoorsman and beloved "Fish Whisperer," spending countless hours fishing and teaching his grandson Nolan the art of baiting a hook. He shared many outdoor adventures with his brother Jack, his father Harry, and his Uncle Bob, and cherished time with family. He was committed to community service, graciously serving: North Charleroi Volunteer Fire Department; President - Wish Upon a Star Productions, raising funds for underprivileged children; Charleroi Football - Midget League Coach; Masonic Lodge #337; and American Legion Post #22.Bill was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Doris Reis.He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Barbara (Jarbeck) Reis; son, Matthew Reis (Jennifer), of Mechanicsburg PA; daughter, Jacquelyne Reis Zona (Derek), of Marion Township; three grandchildren, Nolan, Elisabetta, and Cecilia; brother, Jack (Kathy) Reis, of Belpre, Ohio; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including: Uncle, Don Martin, cousins, Kathy & Scott Lane, Jeanmarie & Bill Rogers, and extended family, Jim Jarbeck & Gloria Pulford, Patty Brubaker (Dick), Bobby Jarbeck, Chrissie Broughler, Rebecca Ramirez (Roy), Bea Burk (Kenny), Bonnie Kline, Jeff Jarbeck (Tracy), Marti Sherwin (Troy), Julie Walko (Don), and more.Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Westmoreland Hospital, UPMC Physical Therapy, and OSPTA Home Health for their compassionate care. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr. Christa Malinak for her dedicated, kind, and steadfast care over many years.Friends and family will be received on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the CARL J. SPALLINO FUNERAL HOME. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 624 Washington Ave., Charleroi.In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family asks for donations in Bill's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org or to the Charleroi Area School District Education Foundation (CASDEF), PO Box 382, Charleroi, PA 15022.We shall remember Bill for his hardworking hands, generous heart, love of family, and quiet strength.
