William Raymond "Bill" Lurken

William Raymond Lurken, known to all as Bill, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, at the age of 77 at Ava's Hospice House in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 30, 1948, in Owatonna, Minnesota, Bill was the son of Magdalene "Maggie" and William Lurken. He graduated from Mankato State University in 1970 with a degree in accounting. He began his career with a deep passion for both numbers and people, eventually founding ELO Prof LLC, which grew to nine offices across the state. His leadership and dedication earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike.

In 1971, Bill married Victoria "Vicki" Stoen. Together they welcomed their son, William "Billy," in 1972 and their daughter, Kelly, in 1976. The family moved to Mitchell, South Dakota, in 1974. After losing Vicki, Bill found love again with Linda Farnsworth, marrying her in Hawaii in 2003. They shared twenty-three joyful years filled with adventure and companionship.

Bill loved fishing, golfing, traveling, collecting coins, and listening to 50s music on his jukebox. He lived on the lake and remained a devoted fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. His quick wit, warm laugh, and adventurous spirit touched everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, William "Billy" (April) Lurken of Mitchell and Kelly (Matt) Lurken-Tvrdik of Minnesota; step-children, Sholi (Jim) Glaus of Chamberlain, Holly (Jerad) Evans of Chamberlain, Amber (Jeff) Jensen of Nebraska, and David (Mark) Farnsworth of Sioux Falls; siblings, Gary (Monica) Lurken of Mitchell and Sally Alkire of Florida; grandchildren Maxwell, Ramona, and Calvin; step-grandchildren Tate, Teil, Savanna, Moriah, Jett, Parker, Hayden, Kinsey, Kale, Blake, and Quinn; and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Lubben of Texas.
