William R. Matthews

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William R. Matthews of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, who passed away on March 9, 2026 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, may William find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lawrence and Alberta Matthews (Chance); and his wife Norma Matthews (Mahaffey). He is survived by: his children, James W. Matthews (Judy Dixon) of Doylestown, PA and Karen "Kit" M. Shaffer (Josh) of Battletown, KY; and his grandchildren, Conor, Julia, Dylan Matthews, Mackenzie "Mack" and Will Shaffer.

The military honors will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Pinewood Memorial Gardens (20950 Rte 19, Cranberry Twp, PA 16066).
