William R. Batchelder

William R. Batchelder, 86, of Wilton, New Hampshire, died at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester on March 5, 2026, after a period of declining health.

Born on August 15, 1939, in Goffstown, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Willard and Gertrude (Frost) Batchelder. Bill was raised and educated in Amherst, New Hampshire. He faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

For many years he worked at Hendrix Wire and Cable. In his free time he found joy in hunting, riding his motorcycle, attending auctions, displaying his 1967 Nova at car shows, spending time at camp, and sharing daily visits with friends at McDonald’s.

He was predeceased by his stepson, Grant “Butch” Demmons. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Carol Batchelder of Wilton; his daughters, Pam Shepherd and her husband Brandon of Arizona, and Karen Batchelder of Milford, New Hampshire; his stepchildren, Wayne and Fran Demmons of Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, Scott and Amy Demmons of Bedford, New Hampshire, Randy and Naomi Demmons of Oklahoma, and Susan Webster of Georgia; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
