Bill was predeceased by his loving parents John and Mary (Molly) Lovett as well as his brother Jack (Joan) and sister Mary. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Janet (Testa), his daughters Kathleen and Jean-Marie (Chris), adored grandchildren Sarah Molly and Charlie as well as many nieces and nephews.Bill was a very special and loved man. He was born and raised in a poor but happy Irish family in Brooklyn, NY. One of the first in his family to go to college, he excelled in school and worked nights to pay for it. At eighteen years of age, he met the girl of his dreams, Janet Testa, they were married and brought into the world two beautiful daughters Kathleen and Jean-Marie who were treasured by Bill throughout his entire life with them.An astute businessman from an early age, Bill was the only member of his college class at St Francis to be selected to work for Price Waterhouse and became a manager within two years. He was intrigued by commercial and residential real estate and decided to start his own firm, which was very successful in co-op conversions throughout the five boroughs of New York. His wife Janet worked alongside him as a sales agent. He continued to grow and manage multiple iterations of his original company for over 40 years until he eventually retired.Bill and Janet had moved to FL for Price Waterhouse and then back to Manhattan for a number of years before settling down in their paradise home on Centre Island, NY. They lived there for many years and have special memories with their family, friends and wonderful dogs. Bill was also committed to giving back. He served as Treasurer on the board of Centre Island, was President of Lions Club, and an active volunteer and member of the Oyster Bay Italian American club. He loved to play bocce, tennis, golf and cards and enjoyed listening to music and working on crossword puzzles. Bill and Janet were fortunate to find a home in Bonita Springs FL where they have spent the majority of their time over the last number of years surrounded by a group of wonderful and supportive friends.Physically, Bill was a fighter and did not let the numerous health struggles he had win. He often said it was the love of his family and friends that kept him going.A celebration of Bill's life will also be held in June in NY details to be shared later.Read The Full Obituary
