William Patrick "Pat" Downes IV

William Patrick “Pat” Downes IV, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away on March 10, 2026, in Crown Point, Indiana. Born on July 24, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana, he was the only child of Lillian Downes (McGraw) and William Patrick Downes III.

Pat is survived by his loving wife, Edith; his two children, Elizabeth Jacobson and her husband Erik Jacobson of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Patrick Downes and his wife Larisa Mendez Downes of Fair Lawn, New Jersey; and his five cherished grandchildren, Chloe Jacobson, Claire Jacobson, Lilliana Downes, Conor Downes, and Bryce Peyton Harrington. He also leaves behind many beloved cousins.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Pat lived a life rooted in family, faith, and quiet strength. Those who knew him will remember the steady warmth and gentle humor he brought to every gathering and the deep pride he took in his children and grandchildren.
