William "Woody" McCallum

November 29, 1946 March 14, 2026

Alliance, OH

William “Woody” McCallum of Alliance, Ohio, passed away on March 14, 2026 at the age of 79. Born on November 29, 1946 in Alliance to the late Donald and Izola McCallum, Woody graduated from Marlington High School in 1964 and from Mount Union College in 1969. He spent 43 years as an insurance agent and retired as co-owner of the Ermlich Insurance Agency. Known for his hardworking and honest nature, he took great pride in helping his customers. He served on the Alliance Community Hospital Board for 35 years and was a longtime member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance.

Woody was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and pet dad whose life was defined by his love for family, quiet strength, and generous spirit. He shared 55 years as a loyal partner and best friend with his wife, Michele. As a father and grandfather, he offered wisdom, patience, and unconditional love, taking great pride in every generation that followed him. He found joy in simple pleasures—time spent with loved ones, working in the yard, watching birds, and the companionship of his cherished pets, especially Lily Mae, who was with him for his final six years. An avid fan of Ohio State and Mount Union football, Woody’s kindness, humor, and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert McCallum; his parents; and his father- and mother-in-law, Red and Peg Micketti.

Woody is survived by his loving wife, Michele; his sister, Shirley (Ken) Johnston; his children, Sandi McCallum (Nick) Mascitti and Christopher McCallum (Lisa Bailey); grandchildren Austen, Hailey, and Griffen Zemrock and Elijah McCallum; great-grandchildren Wren and Hudson Zemrock; brother-in-law Tom (Deb) Micketti; sister-in-law Toni (Keith) Kramer; and his nieces and their families, whom he dearly loved. His legacy of love, devotion, and family will continue through all those he leaves behind.
