William M. Blance

William McDonald Blance, 67, of Chaumont, New York, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on May 11, 1958, in Gouverneur, New York, to Joan (McDonald) Blance and William Stanley Blance, Bill grew up with a lively spirit and a wide circle of friends.

He attended Watertown High School, where he swam on the WHS Swim Team and performed in the school production of West Side Story. After graduation, Bill worked as a salesman and contractor. He spent several years in Florida, where he managed apartment maintenance and bartended part-time, enjoying the change of scenery and the people he met there.

Bill is survived by his sisters Sherry Tontarski and her husband Loren, Melanie Hamilton and her husband Steven Hamilton, Joan Gregory and her husband Stephen Gregory, and his brother Shawn Blance. He also leaves behind six nieces, a grandnephew, four grandnieces, and was dearly loved by his aunt Connie White and uncle Ed White.
