William LeRoy 'Billy' Perry

September 25, 1947 March 11, 2026

Anderson, SC

William LeRoy “Billy” Perry passed away on March 11, 2026, at AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina. Born on September 25, 1947, in Abbeville, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Claude Allen Perry and Dora Wells Perry.

Billy grew up in the Sharon community, where he looked forward to school each day and cherished visits with relatives and friends, a joy that remained with him throughout his life. He loved to joke and “cut up” with anyone willing to join him, blessed with a wonderful sense of humor that made him laugh easily and often.

For the past several years, Billy resided at Linley Park Post Acute in Anderson. Before that, he lived at Rocky River RCF in Belton, where he attended a day program that brought him great happiness. He made many friends among the clients and staff alike, enjoying outings to eat, shopping trips, dances, and visits to the library. He was always quick to share stories of these adventures with his sister. Billy loved rock and roll, babies, the color red, and above all, his family. He shared his personal rules of rock and roll with his sister, explaining that he listened to it every day except Sundays, which he reserved for gospel music.

He attended Strait Christian Church in Belton, where he felt loved and accepted. Billy enjoyed dressing up for church in a suit and tie and proudly telling others how good he looked. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David and Stevie Perry, his nephew John David Perry, and his brother-in-law Robert Duffy. He is survived by his sister, Claudette Duffy; nieces Debbie Duffy and Kristina Burnett (Jack) and their children, Sophie and Ben; nephews Eddie Perry and Philip Perry; and several cousins. His family extends their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who cared for him, especially Mama Hen.
