William James Pinkerton, Jr., age 64, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on February 23, 2026. Born in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to the late William James Pinkerton, Sr. and Lula Pauline Hood Pinkerton, he served his country in the United States Army and was a proud veteran. For more than forty years, he worked on Bill McDaniels farm in LaFayette, where he was known as a free-spirited, kind, and loving man of the Baptist faith. He found great joy in fishing and carpentry work.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Nicole Leann Song, and his brothers Charles Pinkerton and Dennis Michael McGlothin. He is survived by his daughter Amber Dawn Stepanek, his sisters Shirley Reeves, Jackie Darlene Wallace, and Janice Delain Lowe, four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him for his gentle spirit and the quiet devotion he showed to his family and the simple pleasures of life. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
