Preserve forever →William Iaia Jr.
December 27, 1937— March 11, 2026
Smithtown, NY
William Iaia, affectionately known as Bill, journeyed from the vibrant streets of Queens to the shores of Long Island, where he built a successful career owning and operating Bayshore Flooring. A United States Army veteran who served as a paratrooper, he brought that same discipline and precision to his work, helping to floor much of Long Island before retiring. In retirement, he discovered new adventures and tranquility at Zephyr Park.
A man of many passions, Bill was an avid runner in his younger years. Yet he found his greatest joy in the weekly coffee gatherings with his high school friends at the Smithtown Diner, where lively conversations and solving the world’s problems over a cup of coffee became a cherished tradition.
Bill was a devoted builder of both homes and family. He is lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Perry and Yolanda Iaia; his daughters, Tina Iaia and Tracy Flora; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, who knew him as their beloved “Poppy.” He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane, in 2023, and his son, William, in 2016. A man of deep Catholic faith, Bill’s spirit remains firmly rooted in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
