He was born September 17, 1947 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Henry and Mary Edna Ferguson Smith. He was an only child.Bill enjoyed all things hunting and fishing related. Being outdoors in the fresh air was one of the things he loved most. After graduating high school, he moved to Oklahoma where he lived for several years. While there, he met his first wife, Carma, and together they had a son, Stephen. He was employed at Roman Nose State Park in Watonga, Oklahoma. After his mother became ill, he moved back to Gillett, Arkansas to help care for her. After his mother's passing, he worked for the city of Stuttgart, where he was in the Parks and Rec department.Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and his first wife Carma Brown.He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carla Walker Smith; son Stephen (Andrea) Smith of Muskogee, OK; daughter Sierra Rose Smith, who he called "Rosie"; sister-in-law Kim (Paul) Cole both of Cabot; two granddaughters Cadence (Levi) Harrelson of Berryhill, OK and Alena Belle Smith of Muskogee; and two great-granddaughters Yahzamine and Eliana. He also had nieces and nephews by marriage, Jamie, Jordan, Alyssa, Carson, Brylee, Emma, Lailah, Kaison, and Aaliyah.The family would like to thank Spring Creek Health and Rehab for their care and commitment to help Bill while he was a resident.There will be no services at this time.If you would like to honor Bill, in lieu of flowers, please donate to help pay for his cremation.
