William Henry “Bill” Smith, 78, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away on March 2, 2026, at Spring Creek Health and Rehab in Cabot. Born on September 17, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Henry and Mary Edna Ferguson Smith, he was their only child.
Bill cherished the outdoors and found deep joy in hunting and fishing. After high school, he moved to Oklahoma, where he lived for several years, met his first wife, Carma, and together they had a son, Stephen. He worked at Roman Nose State Park in Watonga, Oklahoma. When his mother’s health declined, he returned to Gillett, Arkansas, to care for her. Following her passing, he worked for the city of Stuttgart in the Parks and Recreation department.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and first wife Carma Brown, Bill is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carla Walker Smith; son Stephen (Andrea) Smith of Muskogee, Oklahoma; daughter Sierra Rose Smith, whom he affectionately called “Rosie”; sister-in-law Kim (Paul) Cole of Cabot; granddaughters Cadence (Levi) Harrelson of Berryhill, Oklahoma, and Alena Belle Smith of Muskogee; and great-granddaughters Yahzamine and Eliana. He is also survived by nieces and nephews by marriage, Jamie, Jordan, Alyssa, Carson, Brylee, Emma, Lailah, Kaison, and Aaliyah.
