William Henry Hawkins

William Henry Hawkins, affectionately known as “Hawk,” of Chase City, Virginia, passed away on March 6, 2026, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, Virginia. Born on April 16, 1958, in Vance County, North Carolina, to Julia and William Bullock, he attended Vance County public schools and remained a faithful member of New St. Douglas Baptist Church, where he was always willing to lend a hand. Hawk deeply cherished the time he spent with family and friends throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William Hawkins Jr. and Brandy Ratliff Jr., and his brother-in-law, Henry Goode.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 41 years, Alveria Townes Hawkins of Chase City, Virginia; three daughters, Tanisha Hendricks of Chase City, Virginia, Crystal Hawkins (Karriem) of Henderson, North Carolina, and Amber Walker of South Hill, Virginia; one son, Camari Feggins of South Hill, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; his parents, Julia and William Bullock; three brothers, Larry Hawkins (Sarah), Wayne Bullock, and Tyrone Bullock; two sisters, Phyllis Anne Hawkins (Mister) and Deborah Bullock; six sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law; godsons Shuntwayne and Travis Osborne; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
