William "Bill" H. Harper

April 3, 1943 March 7, 2026

Frazeysburg, OH

William “Bill” H. Harper, 82, of Frazeysburg died unexpectedly Saturday night, March 7, 2026, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Born April 3, 1943, in Newark, Ohio, he was a son of the late Seymour S. and Ethel L. (Moran) Harper and was the youngest of their six children. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Frazeysburg High School and a long-time member of Meadow View Church of Christ where he was a serving elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a retired lineman/foreman of Alltel Telephone Company where he had 43 years of service.

In his younger years he coached biddy league football and little league baseball and in his “mature” years he loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play all their various sports. He was an avid football fan following Tri-Valley Scotties, Ohio State Buckeyes and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan.

Bill (Gramps) was a true patriarch of his family, who they all respected and adored. His biggest pleasure was spending family time, whether family vacation in Myrtle Beach or gathering for a home cooked meal at home. They looked up to him as a man who could do or fix anything put before him and would drop anything he was doing to help anyone who asked.

He is survived by his wife Ruth (Ayers) Harper whom he married June 1, 1962; daughter, Lisa (John) McMullen; daughter-in-law, Johanna Harper; two grandsons, Tony (Stacey) Ripple and Jake Harper; two granddaughters, Erica (Robert) DelliQuadri and Ashley Harper; eight great grandchildren, Lydia Ripple, Ellia Ripple, Leo DelliQuadri, Gio DelliQuadri, Autumn Harcourt, Cheyenne Harcourt, Lily Harcourt, Lincoln Antle.

In addition to his parents and 5 siblings, he is preceded in death by a son, Bill Harper Jr. and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Stella and Harold Ayers.

Friends and Family may visit 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg, Ohio.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the church with Minister Sam Dunn officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meadow View Church of Christ, c/o Building Fund, P.O. Box 87, Frazeysburg, OH 43822.
