He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann; his parents, Daniel Crofford and Opal Crofford; his brothers-in-law, Marshall King and John Butcher; his brother Dan Crofford; his sister-in-law Leona; and his niece Linda Butcher King.

He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Crofford, Ernestine King and Margie Butcher; his daughters, Kathy Crofford of Sterling, KS and Janelle (Larry Prothro) of Salina, KS.; his grandson Graham Prothro of Salina, KS.; his stepgranddaughters, Audra Prothro and Megan Alameda (Taylor) of Oregon; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Logan Prothro, Grace and Cosmo Alameda.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Birzer Funeral Home (203 N 7th St, Sterling, KS 67579). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be given to the Sterling Village in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
