January 11, 1961— March 11, 2026
Trophy Club, TX
William George Allen (65) of Trophy Club, Texas, was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 11, 1961 to Terry and Carol Allen. Colloquially known as Bill, he was loved deeply by those who knew him and had many family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
Bill spent his childhood with his brothers Bob and Tom. He often helped his grandfather as a logger in the mountains of Arizona. Bill was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 5. He loved learning about diabetes and spent much of his time educating others on the effects of the disease.
Bill served a mission in Houston, Texas. This experience gave him a greater sense of purpose in his life and he learned the great value of service, which he carried with him until his passing. He was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a deep love for his Savior.
Bill attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a life-long fan of BYU sports, and often subjected his family to watching BYU basketball, football, or volleyball, whether they wanted to or not.
Bill was a life-long learner with a career spanning several decades. His curiousity led him to a career in telecommunications, where he received several awards and accolades honoring his dedication to his field. He felt fortunate to have worked for IBM, Copper Mountain, and Apple before retiring.
Bill met his wife Jolie at a dance while attending college in Provo, Utah. They married in 1988 in the Mesa, Arizona temple, and enjoyed 37 years together. Bill and Jolie made their home in Texas and raised four boys.
Bill instilled in each of his sons the values of hard work, dedication, and protecting those they love. Bill's sons spent their childhoods pitching tents, doing yard work, and working on their Eagle Scout Awards. Bill was heavily involved in the Boy Scouts and served as a Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America.
Bill became a grandfather 4 years ago, and he thoroughly loved each of his grandchildren. He was known as Goober by his grandchildren, who enjoyed watching old movies with him while they all sat on his lap at the same time. Bill's grandchildren fondly remember playing with him, bouncing on his knee, and going to dinner with him (especially when they got Chick-fil-A cookies and ice cream).
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Terry and Carol,;his parents-in-law Jay and Leotta; his brother Stephen; his brother-in-law Chuck; his sister-in-law Jalene; and the father of his daughter-in-law, Spencer. His family takes comfort in knowing that this heavenly reunion with his family was sweet.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jolie; his four sons and their wives, Blake and Daniela, Drew, Brent and Natalee, and Craig; his grandchildren Beatrice, Finley, Marlow, and Sawyer; his brothers and their wives, Bob and Naomi, and Tom and Susan; his stepmother Nadine; and many others who loved him dearly.
