William Gary Turnley

February 1, 1945 March 8, 2026

Ocala, FL

William Gary Turnley of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully at Grace Davis Hall Hospice House on March 8, 2026, at the age of 81. A successful businessman known for his financial expertise, generosity, and quiet dedication to his church and community, Gary lived a life shaped by curiosity, a deep love of nature, and steadfast care for those around him.

Son of the late Dr. William H. Turnley and Dorothy Turnley, Gary began serving as an altar boy at Grace Episcopal Church in Ocala at the age of six, an experience that laid the foundation for a lifelong faith. He was an avid hiker and nature enthusiast who particularly enjoyed learning about plants and trees, often sharing his knowledge with others. He and his wife Pam shared a love of international travel, with cherished journeys to Ireland, England, and Switzerland.

Gary and Pam met in 1980 when he served as campaign manager for the successful election of Judge Carven Angel. They married on March 17, 1984, at Grace Church in Ocala and built a life together grounded in partnership and service. In 1990 they established P & G Properties, a real estate business in Ocala where Pam served as the people-oriented face of the company and Gary applied his mathematical and financial skills to keep operations running smoothly. A Certified Public Accountant, he was a longtime member and Treasurer of St. Martin’s Anglican Church in Ocala. The couple also spent many happy summers at their mountain home, “The Nest,” in Cashiers, North Carolina, where Gary served as an acolyte at St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Brevard.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and William H. Turnley, M.D., his half-sister Patricia Rose, and his niece Merri (Rose) Pittman. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela D. Turnley, her son Andrew Wires, two nieces, one grandniece, and three grandnephews.
