William G. Uhman, 82, of Westborough, fondly known as “Bill,” “Billy,” “Uncle Billy,” and “Boompa,” passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Marlborough, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John and Marjorie (Sheehan) Uhlman.
He was the husband of the late Barbara “Jeanne” Uhlman. Raised and educated in Westborough, Bill graduated from Westborough High School in 1961 and was a longtime member of the Congregational Church of Westborough. A skilled mechanic, he founded John S. Uhlman Co., beginning with lawn mower repair and later expanding into auto repair. He was well known throughout the town for his expertise. Bill was also talented in woodworking. In his younger years, he enjoyed family vacations in York Beach, Maine, with his wife, children, and extended family. After retirement, he found joy in driving the school bus for his grandchildren Lexi and Will, building puzzles alongside his wife Jeanne, and following every Red Sox game on television or radio.
He was predeceased by three brothers, John (Jackie), Parker (Tinker), and David Uhlman, and by one grandchild, Jay Murray. He is survived by his children, James Uhlman of Worcester, Kim Pueschel of Worcester, Kevin Uhlman of Boston, Missy and her husband Gary Fratoni of Westborough, and Heidi Uhlman of Washington, New Hampshire, as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
