William Frank Crowle, 71, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026 after several years of declining health.
Born on July 19, 1954 in East Cleveland, Ohio, Bill was the son of Leonard Eugene and June Ris Crowle. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a boy and graduated from South Mecklenburg High School in 1972, where he swam and played on the soccer team that won the 1971 state championship. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from N.C. State University in 1976.
Bill spent his career in the North Carolina commercial insurance industry as a Certified Insurance Counselor. After retiring, he earned a Biomedical Equipment Technician degree and worked in the Novant Health system. In 1980 he married Lee Beth Patten, and together they raised two daughters, Kaye Elizabeth and Kristen Margaret. He was a devoted and exemplary father to his girls.
A longtime member of the Concord Rotary Club, Bill was an avid golfer, a dedicated N.C. State Wolfpack fan, and a longtime City League softball player. He was known for his outgoing, charming personality and his remarkable ability to fix anything. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and looked forward to every gathering.
He was predeceased by his daughter Kaye Elizabeth and his parents, Len and June Crowle. Bill is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lee Beth; daughter Kristen Crowle; brothers Alan (Jeanne) Crowle of Raleigh and Ken (Louise) Crowle of West Jefferson; nieces Whitney Sykes, Adelle Patten, and Hannah Ross Patten; nephews James Crowle, Tomas Crowle, and Will Patten; and his beloved dog Remi. He was greatly cherished by his mother-in-law Patricia Patten, brother-in-law Bill Patten, and sisters-in-law Jan Patten and Rebecca Patten.
