William "Bill" F. Nitch, Jr.

William “Bill” F. Nitch, Jr., of Greenville, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 11, 2026, at UPMC-Horizon in Farrell at the age of 69.

Bill worked from a very young age and spent his career as a millwright in the Maintenance Department at Sharon/Wheatland Tube. Known as a jack-of-all-trades, he was skilled in many areas and approached life with quiet competence and reliability. He was a friend to everyone he met and was always willing to help others without expecting anything in return.

He found great joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time on the water in his boat. A lifelong dog lover, he cherished the companionship of his pets. Bill deeply valued his long-standing friendships, particularly those with John Goodemote and Jim Tooles.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Melissa “Missy”; sons William III “Will” and Nathan “Nate” (Jeanette); grandchildren Beia, Maya, Billy, and Stevie Mae; sisters Karen McCumb (Guy) and Kathy Dillinger (Jeffrey); sister-in-law Cathy Shacklock (Butch); one niece; and four nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, stepmother, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and daughter-in-law.
