William Benson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A. - Cumberland on Mar. 10, 2026.Cumberland, MD-William "Bill" Eugene Benson, 62, of Cumberland, MD, went home to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 9, 2026.Born July 28, 1963 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Benson was the son of the late George Samuel Benson, Sr. and Mary Emma (DeLozier) Benson. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: Michael and Terry Benson.Bill was a graduate of Fort Hill High School Class of 1981 and retired as a staff supervisor from CSX Railroad with 23 years of service. He attended Graceland Baptist Church, Short Gap, WV. Bill played softball for over 20 years and he loved going fishing. He also enjoyed watching the dog and horse races.Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years: Dawn Benson; his sons: Shawn Browning (Autumn); Jeremy Benson (Allyson); and Tanner Benson (Samantha); his grandchildren: Kaleb "KB", Jacob "JJ", and Alyssa "Ally"; and his brother: Sam Benson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
