William D. Maher

William D. Maher of Oregon, Wisconsin, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 92. He was a man whose quiet strength and steady presence left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Throughout his long life, William found deep fulfillment in family, simple joys, and the bonds of community, qualities that continue to echo in the lives of those he loved.

He was predeceased by his parents, Francis Maher and Erma Maher (Scott); his wife, Nahldean Maher (Christensen), with whom he shared a devoted marriage centered around John's Lutheran Church; and his siblings, Caryl Farrell and Eugene Maher.

William is survived by his children, Pat Saunders (Tim), Karen Maher, and Kurt Maher; his grandsons, Sebastian Maher (Emma), Jake Solberg, and Willie Solberg; his brother, Ralph Maher; and his sister-in-law, Marge Christensen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will carry forward the warmth and values he embodied.
