Clemmons, NC

William “Bill” Creasy, 90, of Clemmons, passed away on March 11, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness at home. Born on December 8, 1935, in Forsyth County to Walter Curtis Creasy and Sadie Johnson Creasy, he graduated from Clemmons School in 1954 and later from Forsyth Technical Institute. A gifted athlete, Bill excelled as a pitcher on the Clemmons School baseball team and carried his love of sports throughout his life.

He married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Peoples, and together they raised two children, Ronny and Cindy, creating a warm and loving home. Bill worked at Sheets Drive-In, Farmer’s Dairy, and Hanes Hosiery, where he played on the company softball team. He concluded his career after many years at the Westinghouse Turbine Components Plant in King, North Carolina. In his free time, he enjoyed cheering for the Tar Heels and Atlanta Braves, woodworking, collecting carved duck decoys, traveling, and especially gathering with family at High Rock Lake.

Colleen passed away in 2015. In 2017, Bill married Katherine Gleeson, and the two shared many happy years traveling, attending concerts and plays, and spending time with their blended families.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine; his children, Cindy Barkley (Bruce) of Charlotte and Ronny Creasy (Windy Thompson) of Kure Beach; granddaughters Meredith Walker (Andrew) and Kathleen Stutesman (Jack); and great-granddaughters Madelyn Walker and Eleanor Stutesman. He is also survived by his brother- and sister-in-law, Jerry and Diane Peoples, special nephew Andy Peoples, special cousin Sandra Gobble, and many other relatives and dear friends from his community, Trinity Elms neighborhood, and Clemmons First Baptist Church.
