William “Bill” Clay Jones, Jr., 70, of Winston, formerly of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home on March 14, 2026. Born on December 2, 1955, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late William Clay Jones, Sr. and Penny Huey Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved twin sister, Barbara Kay Jones.
Bill will be remembered for his sharp, often sarcastic sense of humor and the gentle, sensitive heart behind it. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing, listening to music, and watching documentaries about history, especially World War II. A proud former member of the Carroll County Community Theatre, he cherished the friendships he made there and deeply appreciated the encouragement and camaraderie of his fellow members.
Above all, Bill’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Tiemersma (Doug) of Winston; granddaughter, Payton Clements (Jon Santala); great-granddaughter, Sophia Harris, of Villa Rica; sisters Elizabeth “Bay” Teague (Larry) of Bremen and Khaki Jones (Jeff Adams) of Los Angeles, CA; and nephew Alex Teague of Bremen, GA. He was also fondly devoted to his beloved pets—Socks, Smokey, Sally, and Sofie—who brought him endless companionship and happiness.
