Bill was born April 28, 1941 in Ionia County the son of Carlton and Julia (Cassel) Whorley.He married Karen Schmidt August 29 1964 in Detroit, together they raised 3 sons. Bill owned and operated Bill's Barber shop in Saranac for 40 years and cut hair for another 10 years in Florida. He was a member of Easton United Methodist Church, past member of the Saranac Lions Club, member and past president of the Ionia fishing and hunting club and TPA. Bill taught hunter's safety for several years.Surviving is his wife Karen Whorley of Saranac. Son's Michael (Nicole) Whorley of Saranac and Mark (Laurie) Whorley of Muskego, Wisconsin. Daughter-in-law, Cara Whorley of Grand Rapids. Grandchildren, Cenni Becher and fiancée Aaron Wilson, Michael William (Chelci) Whorley, Thaddeus Robert Whorley, Gavin Gordon Whorley, Maddi Lynn Whorley and fiancée Nick Gillespie, Cody Childres and Jade Childres. Great grandchildren, Alizah Gillespie, Amelia Gillespie, Raidon Becher, Bryson Becher, Grayston Wilson, Braxton Wilson, Cody Childers Jr., Athena Childers and Carter Cross. Brother James Whorley of Saranac and Brother-in-law Timothy Guarino.He was preceded in death by his parents, son Patrick in 2018 and sister-in-law Patricia Guarino.Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of Bill's life at the Ionia Fishing and Hunting Club on Saturday, March 28th from 1-4 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Ionia fishing and hunting club or plant a tree in Bill's memory.Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
