William Burl Elkins Jr., known affectionately as “Curly Bill,” passed away on March 11, 2026, in Midwest City. Born on September 12, 1944, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to William Elkins Sr. and Margie (Reel) Ware, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
On February 14, 2003, Curly Bill married Sally Hardin. He spent much of his life working in the automotive industry, where he specialized in auto paint and body work. A dedicated veteran, he remained a lifetime member of VFW Post 1317 in Shawnee. In his leisure time, he found great joy in riding his motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Curly Bill is survived by his wife, Sally Elkins, of the home; daughters, Molly Anderson, Dru Anderson, and Tessa Hickman; stepson, David Gurley; brother, George Ware; sister, Freda Dismukes; and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
