April 8, 1957— March 8, 2026
Fort Worth, TX
William Bill Watson Jr., age 68, of Fort Worth, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at Harris Methodist Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Known to many as husband, Daddy, brother, PawPaw, Uncle Bill, Pastor, and friend, Bill was above all a man whose love for others shone through everything he did. His kindness, strength, and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Born on April 6, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, to Dorrean Taylor and William Bill Watson, Bill grew up in the DFW metroplex, where he formed deep and enduring relationships with family and friends. He built a family of his own, becoming a devoted husband to his wife Sharon and a proud father to his children. Throughout his life, he worked tirelessly to provide for and care for them, whether pouring concrete, overcoming past injuries and illnesses, starting his own company, or building race cars. He approached every endeavor with determination and heart.
One of Bill’s greatest joys was cooking for those he loved. His salmon, smoked chicken, baby back ribs, perfectly seared steaks, and famous burgers were prepared with passion and care, turning meals into cherished moments of connection and love that he treasured above all else. Those who knew him will remember his unconditional love, his strength and compassion, especially toward the lost and brokenhearted, and the comfort, laughter, and encouragement his presence brought to so many.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Watson; his children, Jacob Watson, René Helderman (Nathan Helderman), and Jonathan Watson (Haley Watson); his cherished grandchildren, Caleb Watson, Joshua Watson, and Levi Watson; and his great-grandson, Sonny Ray Watson. He is also survived by his sisters, Dena Bonner and Linda Lindsey, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorrean Taylor, and his sister, Paulette Hershner. His legacy of love, faith, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
